GASKILL

AFTER

The heart of the home, the fireplace, received special attention as well. We meticulously constructed a brick fire pit, using the original chimney bricks. Each brick bore witness to decades of fires and stories, and now, they were given a new purpose. Original beams that had weathered the test of time became the foundation for a remarkable stained-glass sliding barn door, handcrafted by a talented local artist. The door not only served as a functional element but also as a captivating piece of art. Outside, the front porch was transformed into a charming retreat by hand-stenciling intricate patterns, adding personality and warmth to the space.

The successful restoration of this once-neglected home stands as a testament to the transformative power of preservation, showcasing its renewed charm and serving as a reminder that history, no matter how forgotten, can always be cherished anew.

BEFORE

The Gaskill property is one of our proudest renovations to date. This landmark historical home was left in a state of disrepair after 30 years of neglect. Before any demolition or design work could be done, our team had to first clear out rooms filled floor to ceiling with the abandoned belongings of the previous owner.

The next step in this arduous journey was to address the decaying floor structure, necessitating the removal and repair of rotten floor joists beneath the existing heart of pine flooring. Despite the challenges, our commitment to preserving the original flooring led us to source aged materials from antique markets and vintage shops, seamlessly integrating them with the existing pine. We were determined to salvage every bit of this home's rich history.
