STORIES
The Design Craft team has had the privilege of collaborating with some of the most remarkable clients. We’re honored to have been entrusted with making their dream homes a reality. Our portfolio showcases their spacious remodels, clever additions, transformative restorations, and custom new-builds.
HARALSON
At the Haralson property, we not only renovated, but restored an old house to preserve its character and charm. We salvaged its doors, hardware, and even the rich pine floors. We created additional space to add a European Wet Room, blending modern convenience with old-world charm. Ultimately, this project represents a harmonious fusion of preservation and innovation, saving historical elements and accommodating modern needs. The end result is a contemporary haven that respects the home’s past in this new chapter of life.
ISWALD
Despite the home’s dire state from years of neglect, we set out to revive and celebrate its history. By repurposing some of the original materials, this new build maintained its original spirit. Using salvaged wood from the original structure, we created a gorgeous fireplace mantel, and featured the aged beams of the roof on the interior of the house to add architectural charm. These design choices made a powerful juxtaposition between the home’s history and its future.
LOWRY DUPLEX
The Lowry Duplex project involved a complete tear-down, and a new modern structure was built. The client wanted to give each unit individual personality, resulting in distinct, yet complimentary design choices for both spaces. The front unit has a sophisticated color palette of grays and blacks, evoking a strong, masculine ambiance, while the back unit uses lighter, neutral tones to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Attention to detail extended to custom-made cabinetry, innovative storage solutions, and thoughtful layouts, enhancing functionality and elevating the overall living experience. This project showcases the power of personalized design tailored to resonate with the unique personalities of its occupants.
GASKILL
This landmark historical home was left in great despair and required a truly transformative restoration from top to bottom. Our team first addressed the decaying floor structure, preserving as much of the original flooring as possible through creative sourcing of aged materials. Efforts extended to salvaging every bit of the home possible, including using original weathered beams for a stained-glass sliding barn door and constructing a brick fire pit from original chimney bricks. Hand-stenciling transformed the front porch into a charming retreat, breathing new life into the neglected space. This home’s transformation is a true testament to the power of restoration. Not only did we return its former splendor, but its significant history has been preserved for many decades to come.
